Good news for gardeners in St Bartholomew Ward! A planning application has been submitted for 6 King Alfred Place, Winchester, concerning the replacement of existing trees with new pleached hornbeams. It sounds like a lovely project that will enhance the conservation area!
A young Willow tree and a small apple tree. the willow is positioned in the middle of the garden and the apple tree is at the street end of the garden. There is a small apple tree whose trunk is approximately 28 cm round at its widest point. And a straggley tree (we are not sure what type it is) but again it is a young tree, 40 cm around the widest part of the trunk.. We are aiming to replace them with pleached hornbeam trees. Our gardener has suggested I run these plans past you as we are in a conservation area.
